Clarity: the priority C

Because the table is open and the facets are broad, inclusions that would vanish in a round are plainly visible in an emerald cut.

Our recommendation: VS2 or above. VS1 if the stone is over 2 carats. SI-grade emerald cuts exist and are cheaper, but you will see the inclusion, and you will see it every day.

Laboratories don't issue an overall cut grade for emerald cuts the way they do for rounds. Judge by proportion instead:
